It has been said that a picture is worth a 1000 words. With that old adage in mind VL has released another series of infographics about where your data integration lives and how middleware can help your on premise and cloud applications communicate once you have chosen your system.

E-Commerce Integration - Middleware Makes Life Easier

build vs. buy, integration stack

A well planned ecommerce integration and whether to choose a middleware package over a single silo EDI solution is closely related. Before I begin to examine this relationship it is important to define a couple of key terms.

Magento End to End Integration

Magento Order

Here at Virtual Logistics trade show season is in full swing which means that there is a lot of talk around the office about e-commerce integration. This month, Virtual Logistics was exhibiting at the Magento ecommerce world Imagine 2013 in Las Vegas, Nevada where we partnered with SmartOSC to demo end to end Magento e-commerce integration. The trade show was a huge success and another great opportunity for Virtual Logistics to discuss with people about e-commerce integration. There is more to come on the Magento Imagine trade show in a future blog article, but, our demo and our partnership got me thinking; what does Magento end to end integration actually look like?

14th Baktun Mayan Calendar - Data Integration Predictions for 2013

2013 Predictions

2012 has almost ended and if you listen to the doom and gloom artists who follow Nostradamus and their own interpretation of the Mayan calendar, on the 21st we all won't be around. Buy hey, its the 21st and I am still here, at least for now. In a former life I studied archaeology, so I figured it would be good to provide you with a number of predictions for the first year of the 14th Baktun, as we at VL see things. But first let's revisit 2012.

5 Signs your EDI System is out of date and really sucks

Old EDI System

One of our widely read blog articles, is one that we wrote a few years ago. Its titled 8 signs your EDI system sucks. While the 8 signs are still valid, and we still see sites with all 8 signs, I thought we would update the 8 signs with 5 more as we come to the end of 2012.

Data Integration what you can learn from the Boeing 787 Dreamliner

describe the image

I have to admit it I am a Boeing commercial plane nut. I love their aircraft. Over the years I have flown on the entire line of Boeing commercial aircraft - 707, 727, 737, 747, 757, 767, and the 777. I have not yet flown the 787 Dreamliner but can't wait. My boys recently bought me a sticker - "If It's not Boeing I'm not Going". That just about sums it up! For those who must know I don't like Airbus planes - it's an incident story. I do fly them when forced to, but if a Boeing aircraft is available on the same route that's my first choice by a long shot. So I have followed the development of the 787 over the years with a lot of interest.

5 Questions to ask your EDI Provider.

EDI look at the details

I am amazed in our sales cycle by the number people I speak to who have selected an EDI Service provider and found out after the fact that they have been slotted into a one size fits all solution. I don’t know too many businesses that are identical even in the same vertical. The way businesses are run is as diverse as the people who work in these organizations.
